Mike McCormick, 50, of Huntingdon, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 27th, 2015, after a brief illness. He was born Sunday, October 11th 1964 in Lancaster, a son of Charles H. McCormick and Gale D. (Runk) McCormick of Hesston, who retired to Hesston. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his aunts and uncles, Dennis D. Runk of Lock Haven; Carolyn (McCormick) Vanderhoff of Corry; Jane (McCormick) Vaughn and husband Rev. Harry J. Vaughn of Raleigh, NC; Doris (McCormick) DuVall and husband Robert DuVall of Breezewood; Dr. Robert McCormick and wife Dr. Toni (Trunfio) McCormick of Manlius, NY; Cindy (Eller) McCormick, Peterson and husband Steve Peterson of Florida, 12 cousins and their families, Michelle (DuVall) Layton, Phil DuVall, Mark Vaughn, Matthew Vaughn, Jon Vaughn, Chip Vanderhoff, Dr. Melanie (McCormick) Schlauder, Mandy (McCormick) Johnson, Misty (McCormick) Terhorst, Jesse McCormick, Jon, Holly, and many more loving family members, extended family and friends. He was preceded in passing away by his grandparents, Mabel R. (Pepple) Runk-Wallace, Sheldon R. Runk, Paul W. Wallace, Elizabeth Jane (Wendell) McCormick and Harry B. "Mac" McCormick, he was preceded in passing away by two aunts, Judith Ann Runk and Paula Ann (Wallace) Donaldson, and two uncles William McCormick and Theodore Vanderhoff, II. During his early life, Mike attended the Breezewood Full Gospel Lighthouse Church, now the Breezewood Lighthouse Assembly of God. He was a was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1983 and attended the Pennsylvania State University in State College where he studied Architectural Engineering. Beginning work at an early age, Mike helped his parents operate their Breezewood motel and their Everett business, Gales Floral Boutique and the Everett Flower Shop. He began his professional career as an Liaison Engineer at JLG in Bedford, later working as a quality control inspector at Bonney Forge Corporation in Mount Union, and most recently worked as a quality control inspector at Teledyne Paradise Datacom in State College. A member of the Huntingdon Elks Lodge, Mike was an excellent woodworker, talented photographer and artist who loved music and history. He could fix or repair just about anything, working along with his Dad, and enjoyed riding motorcycle, both on and off the highway, bird hunting with Saxony, his devoted German Shorthaired Pointer, and will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor and devotions to his family and friends. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 4th, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Breezewood Lighthouse Assembly of God with Pastor Jonathan Wyns and Rev. Harry J. Vaughn officiating. Family and friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
