Miriam L. "Mim" (Gouchnour) Sponsler

Miriam L. (Gochnour) Sponsler, 84, of Everett, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011, with her family at her side. She was born March 24, 1927 at her family home in Snake Spring Township, daughter of the late Albert Baker Gochnour and Lillie Mae (Pee) Gochnour. On September 23, 1945 in Scott Field, Illinois, she married Jack B. Sponsler, who survives along with their children, Karen L. Smith, and husband Ivan Smith, of Bedford Randy D. Sponsler, of Lancaster A brother, Dwane Gochnour, and wife Beverly, of Everett 6 grandchildren, Eric Smith and companion Jamie, of Mechanicsburg Shannon Tegeler and husband Jim, of Bedford Amber Sharp, and husband Darren, Miranda Sponsler, Rebecca Sponsler, and W. Chris Sponsler, all of Lancaster And 6 great grandchildren, Devin, Corey, Madison, Reilly, Liam, and Taylor. She was preceded in passing away by a daughter-in-law, Sharon (Morse) Sponsler, a sister, Lorraine Wilson, and 2 brothers Fred Gochnour and Don Gochnour. Miriam was employed as a front desk clerk at the Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge in Breezewood for many years until retiring, and enjoyed spending time with her friends as a member of the Pacesetter Bowling League, where she was a team member for over 35 years. At home "Mim" as she was known to family and friends, enjoyed cooking and baking, especially making chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren, and was a caring and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating.
