Myra Dunkle Obituary

Myra Cleo Dunkle, 98, of Everett was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. She was born October 31, 1913 at the Dr. Sipes Hospital in Everett, a daughter of the late William Scott Snyder and Lillian Marie (Cypher) Snyder. On August 13, 1946 in Winchester, Virginia, she married George W. Dunkle who passed away in 1973. She is survived by their two sons, Rayburn M. Snyder, of Crescent City, Florida John S. Dunkle and wife Sheri (Stultz) Dunkle, of Everett 2 grandsons, Shannon Dunkle and special friend Dorie Clarke, of Berryville, Virginia and Zachary Paul Dunkle and wife Erin, of Atlanta, Georgia and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by 2 brothers, Dr. Grayson Snyder, and Melvin Snyder. Mrs. Dunkle was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Everett and a member of the Bedford Springs Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star where she previously served as Grand Matron and secretary for many years, and in June of 2012 would have become an 80-year member of the Eastern Star. She was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1931 and a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Nursing. Myra Cleo then worked as a nurse for Dr. Sipes at his hospital in Everett, later working for him in his private practice and also served as a private nurse for many families throughout Bedford County. She then worked at her family owned monument works in Bedford, operated the Pennsylvania end of her fathers Florida citrus orange business and also helped operate her family owned residential and commercial properties. She enjoyed traveling, having visited many parts of the world, and also enjoyed being at home with her family and friends and spending the winters with her family and friends in Florida. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed for her adventurous and thoughtful ways. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. David Wright officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Thursday February 9, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday from 10:00 am hour of service, and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. The Bedford Springs Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star will conduct services at the funeral home Thursday at 7:30 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Dunkle to the Zion Lutheran Church, 110 West Main Street, Everett, PA 15537, to the American Heart Association, 400 Luray Avenue Johnstown PA 15904, or to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
