Myron N. "Sonny" Price

Myron N. "Sonny" Price, 71, of Everett, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. He was born May 1, 1940 in East Providence Township, a son of the late George Raymond Price and Fannie Agnes (Garlick) Price. On June 29, 1968 at the Breezewood Full Gospel Lighthouse, he married Arlene P. (Barton) Price, who survives along with their children, Andrew D. Price, and wife Shonda (Whiteside) Price, of Warfordsburg Andrea D. Mellott, and husband Michael R. Mellott, of Warfordsburg 3 grandchildren, Austin Mellott, Zachary Price and Garrett Price, all at home 6 sisters, Ruth Walters, of Indiana Freeda Reffner, of Roaring Springs Clara Adams, of Euclid, OH Violet Berrie, of Everett Leona Horton, of Everett and Shirley Whetstone, and husband Lynn Whetstone, of Everett In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing away by an infant sister Janet, an infant brother Lee, and a sister Doris Morgret. Mr. Price was a member of the Clear Creek Brethren In Christ Church and a former member of the Breezewood Full Gospel Lighthouse. He was a graduate of Everett Southern Joint High School, Class of 1959, and after graduation, he and his father worked together as loggers in the Bedford County area. Sonny then worked on several local farms, was employed with the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and in March of 1969, began working in the produce department at the IGA Grocery Store in Everett, now known as the Everett Foodliner, retiring in 1998 as manager of the frozen foods department. At home, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends, cutting firewood, farming with his tractor and caring for the lawns at Union Memorial, Pleasant Union, and Cedar Grove Memorial Park cemeteries. He will be remembered for his compassionate, trusting and caring ways, and providing well for his family. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 28, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. John E. Geyer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Cherry Lane Cemetery.
