Nellodene M. "Dene" (Foor) Weist

Nellodene "Dene" M. Weist, 81, of Everett, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 3, 2011. She was born December 25, 1929 at her family home in East Providence Township, a daughter of the late Leroy G. Foor and Nora P. (Colledge) Foor, and was raised by her aunt and uncle, the late Blaine Foor and Sally (Foor) Foor. On April 3, 1947 at the First Christian Church parsonage in Everett, she married Elmer Weist, who passed away on August 10, 2006. She is survived by their children, Dick A. Weist, and wife Marilyn Sue (Skvarka) Weist, of Breezewood Carol J. Foor, and husband Marvin A. Foor, Jr., of Everett 4 grandchildren, Tonya Reffner, and husband Mike, of Everett Bradley Foor, and wife Mandi, of Everett Joshua Weist, of Breezewood Jessica Weist, of Breezewood 2 great granddaughters, Ryleigh Jean Foor, and Karlee Grace Foor, a sister, Bernadette Hammond, of New Jersey 3 sisters in law, Cleo Clouse, and husband Clyde, of Everett Sara Horton and husband Merle, of Everett Jean Weist, of Buffalo, NY and a brother in law, Glenn Weist, of Bedford. She was preceded in passing away by a sister Betty Munley, a sister in law, Betty Barnes, and a brother in law, Danny Weist. Mrs. Weist was a lifelong member of the Rays Cove Christian Church and attended the Breezewood Community Church. After her marriage to Elmer, she was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her children and caring for her family. In 1966, Nellodene and her children moved to Alexandria, Virginia where Elmer was working as a union carpenter, and she began working for the Fairfax County School District, first as a head cook at the elementary school, and then as a bus driver for children with special needs, retiring after nearly 20 years of service. At home, Dene, as she was known to family and friends, enjoyed cooking, canning and preparing for special family events and holidays, starting everyday anew by reading her Bible. She will be greatly missed for her sense of humor and the love she shared with her family. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Rays Cove Christian Church with Pastor JR Winck and Pastor Dean Thomas officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Saturday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Sunday at the Church from 1:00 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Rays Cove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Breezewood Community Church, P.O. Box 79, Breezewood, PA 15533-0079.
