Nola V. McFarland, 91, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014. She was born Friday, September 21st, 1923 at her family home in Six Mile Run, a daughter of the late Charles C. Snyder and Virginia A. (Davis) Snyder. She was married to Daniel D. McFarland who passed away on February 7th, 1996, and is survived by their sons, Daniel D. McFarland, Jr., of Everett Rodney H. McFarland and wife Nancy (Kiefer) McFarland, of Everett Six grandchildren, Amy Jo Batzel, of Everett Troy D. McFarland of Wellington, Alabama Bradley W. McFarland of Everett Beth M Jeschonek of Everett Rodney W. McFarland of Mount Pleasant Angela J. Leslie of Somerset Eleven great-grandchildren, a great great-grandson, a sister Rose Border of Everett, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and their families. She was preceded in passing away by three sisters, Gladys Axon, Mae Ritchey and Mary Dean, and six brothers, Charles "Pudd" Snyder, John Snyder, Shannon Snyder, Glenn "Tip" Snyder, Gerald Snyder and Joseph Snyder. Mrs. McFarland was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Bedford where she enjoyed attending Bible Study, Sunday school, and many other activities with her Church family. She was a graduate of Broad Top High School, and after graduation, set to keeping home and was a loving and dedicated mother and homemaker. After her sons were raised and on their own, Nola worked at the Everett Bank, taking great pride in her job as a cleaning lady for over 25 years until retiring in 1988. A great cook who made wonderful homemade bread, ham pot pie and homemade hot chocolate for the children she cared for, Nola enjoyed reading her Bible, talking with her sister Rose every day, and will be remembered for the smile she shared, the kind words she spoke, and the warm hugs she so generously shared with her family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at 11:00 am at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Bedford, with Pastor Steven Egbert officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 am until the hour of service, and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Bethel Brethren Cemetery, Tatesville.
