Nona Wilkins Obituary

Nona F. (Davis) Wilkins, 92, of Chambersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23rd, 2020 at the Chambersburg Hospital.

She was born on Saturday, February 25th, 1928 at her family home in Saxton, a daughter of the late William J. Davis and Mary E. (Pergrin) Davis.

On April 9th, 1950, at the Saxton Brethren In Christ Church, she married Alfred Dewey Wilkins who passed away on September 25th, 2004. She was then married to Irvin LeRoy Minor, who passed away on January 4th, 2009.

She is survived by her and Alfred's children;

Steven R. Wilkins and wife Susan M. (Ritchey) Wilkins, of Chambersburg,
Mary Beth Palmer and husband Ralph E. Palmer, of Duncannon,
Kathy E. Brubaker and husband John A. Brubaker, of Dillsburg,
Mark E. Wilkins and wife Beverly K. (Jones) Wilkins, of Smyrna, Tennessee,

8 grandchildren: Kendra, Katrina, Allen, Mark, Alicia, Caleb, Keegan and Amber, and 6 great-grandchildren, Kelsi, Jaden, Kendal, Kolten, Kira and Elijah.

In addition to her parents, husband and second husband, she was preceded in passing away by a son, Philip A. Wilkins, and her older brothers and sisters, Simon Davis, William Davis, Sr., James Davis, Jesse Davis, Sarah Edwards, Mildred Wall, Arnold Davis and Hazel Mae (Ritchey) Kennedy.

Mrs. Wilkins was a member of the Clear Creek Brethren In Christ Church, the Pinellas Park Wesleyan Church, and most recently attended the New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church and Montgomery Brethren In Christ Church.

A 1947 Graduate of Messiah Bible College in Grantham, Pennsylvania, Nona was a devoted mother who also worked at the Pinellas County Schools cafeteria, Pinellas County, Florida and was the Director of Daycare for Holden Park Brethren in Christ Church in Orlando, Florida.

At home, Nona loved to crochet, sing hymns and truly loved spending time with her family and friends at church and at SpriTrust Lutheran, The Village at Luther Ridge. She will be remembered for wholeheartedly loving our Lord and her family, friends and community.

Private funeral services will be held by her family with Pastor Lawton Jacobs officiating.
