Quay H. Hartman

Quay H. Hartman, 75, of Needmore, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was born Wednesday, July 8th, 1942 in Gettysburg, a son of the late Clayton Stanley Hartman and Letha Jane (Harbaugh) Hartman. On April 2nd, 1978 in Reisterstown, Maryland, he married Jean M. (Bauerline) Hartman who survives along with their daughter Marylou D. Williams and husband Robert Williams, Jr., Three grandsons, Robert D. Williams, III, Aaron Williams and Sean Williams, Three sisters, Lorraine Waybright, Sally Malone and Diane Good, Two brothers, Virgil R. Hartman and Waldo T. Harman and many loving, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing away by an infant sister, Mary Jane Hartman. Quay was a member of the Great Conewago Presbyterian Church, Gettysburg. A graduate of Gettysburg High School, Class of 1960, after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army serving as a Private E-1 Light Weapons Infantryman and serving in the United States Army Reserve until 1968. He also attended Harrisburg Area Community College studying in the Lethal Weapons Training Program at the Criminal Justice Training Center. Throughout his lifetime, Quay was an outdoorsman who truly enjoyed working in agriculture, be it a dairy farm, hog farm, or breeding cattle, he was just happy caring for the animals and will be remembered for his kind and thoughtful ways.
