Raymond Craig Obituary

Raymond E. "Butch" Craig, 71, of Everett, passed away at home on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 He was born January 22, 1940 in Shippensburg, a son of the late Raymond and Laura (Brown) Craig. On November 21, 1959 in Cumberland, he married his wife of over 50 years, Loretta E. (O'Neal) Craig, who passed away on February 23, 2010. He is survived by their children, Michael E. Craig and wife Lori A. (Clark) Craig, of Everett Mark A. Craig, and wife Angie M. (Brown) Craig, of Imler Stuart L. Craig, and wife Mia M. (Pittman) Craig, of Clearville Angela D. Cogan, of Marine City, Michigan and husband Eric Cogan, of Clearville 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 4 sisters, Judy Lynch, of Shippensburg Freda Hepher, of Chambersburg Susan O'Neal, and husband Allen O'Neal, of Shippensburg Deborah O'Neal, and husband Harley O'Neal, of Everett In addition to his parents and wife Loretta, he was preceded in passing away by a great granddaughter Lexie Koontz, a grandson Timothy Craig, and a sister, Betty Finkley. Early in his lifetime, Ray began working on a dairy farm in Shippensburg, later earning his position as a Master Painter, working in the Harrisburg, Gettysburg and Chambersburg areas for over ten years until moving to Everett to work as a delivery truck driver for the Earlston Planing Mill. He then worked as a welder for L.B. Foster Company in Wolfsburg, and for over 30 years, was employed as a welder for JLG Industries in McConnelsburg until retiring. At home he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on small engine equipment, especially lawn and garden tractors, and was a friendly and caring man who will be greatly missed for his wonderful sense of humor and kindness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Cherry Lane Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ray to the funeral home.
