Raymond Tew Obituary

Raymond E. Tew, 71, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28th, 2014. He was born Thursday, March 18th, 1943 at his families home in Egolf Park, a son of the late Irvin Raymond Tew and Marian B. (Fisher) Tew. He was married to Virginia (Lockhart) Tew who passed away in 2002, and is survived by his companion Lucille Brant, of Everett, Two sons, Jimmy Lockhart and wife Sanya, of Virginia Johnny Lockhart and wife Carolyn, of Virginia Six grandchildren, Two sisters, Shelby Leckrone, of New Orleans, Louisiana Betty Hasting, of Everett And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in passing away by two nephews Nathan Diehl and Rodney Crawford. Mr. Tew was a member of the Everett Baptist Church and was employed with the Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax Virginia, as a custodian for over 40 years until retiring. In his younger years, Ray worked as a caddy at the Bedford Springs Golf Course , earning enough money to buy his first car, and then was a lifelong golfer. At home he enjoyed bible study, fishing, and will be remembered for his kinds ways and willingness to "lend a hand" to his family and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev, Hubert Cagle officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Sweet Root Cemetery. Memorial contributions my be made in memory of Ray to the funeral home to help his family with funeral expenses.
