Robert Greenawalt Obituary

Robert T. Greenawalt, 90, of Clearville, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013 and is once again with his dear wife Mary. He was born Thursday, March 16th, 1922 in Henrietta, near Martinsburg, a son of the late John H. Greenawalt and Margaret (Brumbaugh) Greenawalt. On June 7th, 1946 at the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren he married Mary Elizabeth (Grimes) Greenawalt who passed away on October 28th, 2007. He is survived by their children, John W. Greenawalt and wife Norma (Clark) Greenawalt of Clearville William D. Greenawalt and wife Cheryl (Cross) Greenawalt of Everett Carol J. Dueck of Mauldin, SC Earl H. Greenawalt and wife Lori (Rose) Greenawalt of Clearville 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing away by 2 brothers, John L. Greenawalt and Homer B. Greenawalt. Mr. Greenawalt was a member and dedicated attendee of the Pennwood Bible Church for over 40 years. He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1940, the Altoona Business School, and then served as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II at the Iceland Base Command Headquarters earning the American Service Medal, EAME Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. After returning home, Bob was a long time dairy farmer and conservation advocate serving on the board of the Bedford County Conservation District for many years, and was a member of the NRA and avid deer hunter. He will be remembered for his determination, strength, and love of God and country. Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 6th, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Pennwood Bible Church with Pastor Floyd Rinehart, Pastor Dana Umbel, and Pastor Walter L. Hoard officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Ritchey Cemetery. The Everett Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Bob to Pennknoll Bible Church, 440 Hospital Drive, Everett, PA 15537.
