Rodger J. Kearney, 83, of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11th, 2013 from home. He was born Monday, October 20th, 1930 in Philadelphia, a son of the late Michael Kearney and Kathleen (O'Donnell) Kearney. In February of 1970 in Runnemede, New Jersey, he was married to Angela R. (Callahan) Kearney who passed away on July 6th, 1995. He is survived by his brother, John R. Kearney, Sr. and wife Betty, of Media a dear friend and companion, Laura O. Morse, of Bedford and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and their families. He was preceded in passing away by three brothers, James Kearney, Michael Kearney, and Pete McGlone. After graduating from high school, Rodger entered the United States Army, serving during the Korean War as a Private Regular Army until his honorable discharge in November of 1952. He then continued his service to our country as a Seaman with the United States Merchant Marines for over 40 years until retiring. Rodger was an avid deer hunter who faithfully worked out at the gym, and during football season you could count on him to cheer on his Philadelphia Eagles to the end. A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 14th, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Rev. Raymond Short officiating.
