Roger A. Dodson

Roger A. Dodson, 64, of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 22nd, 2017. He was born Friday, March 7th, 1952 in Cumberland, a son of the late Walter Morris Dodson and Phyllis A. (Smith) Dodson. He is survived by two daughters, Darla F. Markham and husband Matthew Markham, of Tyrone, Nichole Dodson, a son Michael Dodson, six grandchildren, a brother Jack Dodson and wife Mary Ann of Bedford, a sister Janet (Dodson) Williams and husband Roger Williams of Clearville, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. Roger previously worked as a dairy farmer in the Hopewell area and was a Prison Guard at the Bedford County Correctional Facility until retiring. He enjoyed hunting year ‘round, especially during buck season, and was an avid horseback rider who truly loved his family and will be remembered for the great times he shared with so many.
