Ronald “Ronnie” W. Foor, 86, of Everett, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024. Born on March 6, 1938, in Hopewell, PA, he was the son of W. Franklin and M. Elizabeth (Eichelberger) Foor.
On August 6, 1960, in Cumberland, MD, he married Joanne E. (Ward) Foor. She preceded him in passing on December 13, 2022, ending a 62-year marriage.
Ronnie is survived by daughters, Carla Foor and fiancé, Jonathan Donelson, of Everett, and Robin Foor of Hanover; five grandchildren, Jacob King of Chester, VA, Blake Small and partner, Brittany Carpenter, of Lake Ariel, PA, Dustin Small and partner, Sarah Mafnas, of Dover, PA, Megann (King) Comstock and husband, Chris, of Portsmouth, VA, and Casey Small of Hanover, PA; one great-granddaughter, Eleanor Small; a brother, Donald Foor and wife, Mary, of Everett; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Ronnie was preceded in passing by sister, Joyce Ferguson and husband, Clark Ferguson, Jr.
Ronnie attended Bedford High School and was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.
Retiring from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company, Ashcom Plant, he was employed there for 39 years. He was the foreman of the Lime Division taking pride in his job. Ronnie had many friendships that cultivated over the years of his employment. Some of those friendships continued until the end. Once he had completed 25 years of service, he became a member of NESL’s Quarter Century Club.
Ronnie was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, 76er’s, and Flyers fan. He always watched sports on TV and enjoyed attending Altoona Curve games. He had a passion for having a beautifully manicured lawn and an immaculate vehicle. During the warmer months, you could always find him sitting on his front porch listening to music.
Ronnie was very well-liked and respected, always putting other’s needs before his own. He loved his family unconditionally and was very proud of each and every one of them and their accomplishments. He will truly be missed by them all.
Some of his most enjoyable times spent with Joanne were going for Sunday drives and out to dinner.
The family would like to thank UPMC Home Hospice for the outstanding care he received during this difficult time. A very special “Thank You” to nurses, Stacy and Krista, and his aide, Debbie, for the love and friendship shown to him. They have become a part of our family and we will be eternally grateful for the care and respect shown to our dad.
