Roy W. Grove

Roy W. Grove, 93, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 28th, 2017. He was born Saturday, September 22nd, 1923 at his family home in West Providence Township, a son of the late Thaddeus Grove and Mary (Thomas) Grove. On May 7th, 1971 in Clearville, he married Margaret A. (Imgrund) Grove who survives along with nine nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in passing away by two sisters, Pearl Kisamore and her husband Melvin, Lyda Barkman and her husband Alva, a brother Marshall Thomas, a niece Glenna Flannigan and two nephews, Algie Kisamore and William Barkman. As a young man, Roy helped with the daily operations of his families West Providence Township dairy farm. His first job was driving truck for Roy Cornell, picking up canned milk from local dairy farms when milking by hand was still customary. He then began driving truck for the Everett office of the Bedford County Farm Bureau, delivering feed and other products to farms throughout Bedford, Blair and Fulton counties for many years until retiring. He enjoyed the activities and fellowship of his friends at the Black Valley Federated Church, was a dedicated husband who enjoyed spending time with his wife caring for their home, shopping together, eating out and just spending time with their family and friends. He will be remembered for his willingness to lend a hand and his kind and thoughtful ways. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Black Valley Federated Church of the Brethren and Christian with Rev. Frank Wheeland officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett in Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
