Ruth A. Sparks, 85, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 18th, 2014. She was born Sunday, December 23rd, 1928 at her family home in Southampton Township, a daughter of the late Emory Bowman and Mabel (Diehl) Bowman. On October 3rd, 1959 in Winchester, Virginia, she married John A. Sparks who passed away on February 22nd, 2008. She is survived by her two brothers, Richard L. Bowman and wife Shelvy (Calhoun) Bowman of Elizabethtown Ralph E. Bowman and wife Wilma (Foor) Bowman, of Breezewood Two brothers-in law, Jack L. Sparks and wife Carolyn, of Altoona Roy A. Sparks and wife Shirley, of Everett And many loving nieces, nephews, friends and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by a sister Eva Marie Smith, and two brothers Raymond Bowman and Robert Bowman. Mrs. Sparks was a lifelong member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren. She worked for many years as a cook at both the Breezewood and Midway Howard Johnson restaurants, and then was a cook for Pennknoll Village until retiring. She enjoyed caring for her home, embroidery, vegetable gardening and canning, and was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Bethel Church of the Brethren, Tatesville, with Reverend H. Lee Ritchey officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 am until the hour of service, and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
