Ruth H. (Riley) Vaughn

Ruth H. Vaughn, 93, of Everett, passed away on Thursday, December 11th, 2014. She was born Saturday, March 26th, 1921 at her family home in Everett, a daughter of the late Ritner David Riley and Grace (Naugle) Riley. On June 26th, 1937 in Winchester, Virginia, she married Harry I. Vaughn who passed away on April 12th, 1984. She is survived by their son, Harry John Vaughn, and wife Jane (McCormick) Vaughn of Raleigh, North Carolina A daughter, Gloria Jean (Vaughn) Weaver of Garner, North Carolina, A granddaughter raised in their home, Debra Lynn (Robison) Jenkins of Crossville, Tennessee 15 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, several great great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in passing away by Two daughters, Connie Grace (Vaughn) Robison and Trudy Lee (Vaughn) Clark, Three sisters, Lydia (Riley) Deihl, Mary (Riley) Avey, and Viola (Riley) Bair of Everett. And six brothers, Fred Riley, Lloyd Riley, Rollin Riley, David Riley, Glenn Riley and Richard Riley. Mrs. Vaughn was a founding and long time member of the Assembly of God Church in Everett. She owned and operated Dr. Ruth's Doll Hospital of Everett for many years, and earlier in her lifetime was employed at the Family House Restaurant in Breezewood and at Lion Manufacturing in Everett. A kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be remembered for putting the needs of others first, especially those of children and families who could use a helping hand. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Everett Assembly of God Church with Pastor John W. Wiley officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, on Tuesday December 16th, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Bethel Church Cemetery, Tatesville.
