Samuel Fluke Obituary

Samuel R. Fluke, Sr., 67, of Everett, returned home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, February 2nd, 2015 with his family at his side. He was born Sunday, November 9th, 1947 at his family home in Hopewell Township, a son of the late Ray T. Fluke and Betty I. (Welsh) Fluke. On August 12th, 1967 at the Yellow Creek Church of the Brethren parsonage, he married his loving wife of 47 years, Connie R. (Mills) Fluke who survives along with their children, Sam Fluke, Jr., and wife Linda (Walter) Fluke of Claysburg Tina M. Fluke and fiancé Joseph Carlo of Elizabethtown Jason A. Fluke and wife Stephanie of Lovely 8 grandchildren and a great granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing away by a son Matthew T. Fluke in 1991, and his father and mother-in-law Wilber Mills and Mary Mills Yoder. Sam was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Bedford where he served as a member of the priesthood. A graduate of Northern Bedford County High School, Class of 1965 and of Millersville University, Class of 1970, Sam taught industrial arts for the Bedford School District for 33 years until he retired to pursue his true passions of being a gentleman farmer, a loving husband and the best grandfather in East Providence Township. He enjoyed outdoor activities, caring for animals, and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren, and will be truly missed for his sense of humor he shared so freely. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Donahue Manor Road, Bedford, with Branch President Gary Neuder officiating. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the hour of service and are invited to share memories and fellowship at a luncheon after the service at the Church. Memories may be shared online at www.dallavalle-everett.com, and memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sam to the Home Nursing Agency, Home Care Hospice, 227 Hospital Drive, Everett, PA 15537 Arrangements by Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett.
