Sarah F. (Church) Hackney

Sarah F. Hackney, 65, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15th, 2013. She was born Sunday, February 15th, 1948 in Marion, Virginia, a daughter of the late Charles Church and Nelly (Gray-Leonard) Church. She was married to Gordon Hackney who passed away on June 17th, 2009. She is survived by five children, George Adams and wife Patrice (Sunde) Adams or Inwood, WV, Rusty Adams and wife Pam (Long) Adams of Shenandoah, WV, Keith Adams and wife Sandy (Woodward) Adams of Kearneysville, WV, Doug Adams and wife Dawn (Barthlow) Adams of Everett, Mark Adams of Harpers Ferry, WV, Three step children, Gary O'Dell and wife Vickie of Cumberland, Patricia Hackney of Charleston, WV, Pam Young and husband Earnest of Charleston, WV, 18 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, Two sisters, Betty Jo Welch of Winchester VA, and Linda Tomlin of Leesburg, VA, and a brother William Church of Everett. She was preceded in passing away by six sisters, Madeline Popry, Mary Hutton, Beulah Holmes, Lola Pierce, Catherine Holmes, and Margaret Stokes. Sarah was a homemaker who enjoyed playing her guitar, listening to blue grass and country music, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed for her caring ways. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 24th, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Home, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor John Garner officiating.
