Sarah R. (Plummer) Wilt

Sarah R. Wilt, 80, of Breezewood, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 10th, 2014. She was born Monday, September 4th, 1933 at her family home in Bedford, a daughter of the late Regis Plummer and Mary (Drenning) Plummer, a home which is now on display at Old Bedford Village. On December 16th, 1970, she married Chester A. Wilt, Jr. who passed away on December 17th, 2006. She is survived by their three sons, Shane D. Wilt, of State College Brett A. Wilt and wife Tina M. (Whited) Wilt, of Everett Michael E. Wilt and wife Candi C. (Clingerman) Wilt, of Breezewood Two granddaughters, Kayla Wilt, and Courtney Pittman and husband Josh, Three grandsons, Joshua A. Wilt, Derek M. Wilt, and Mason M. Wilt A great-granddaughter, Evey Marie Pittman A great-grandson, Caden Hillenbrand A sister, Mary Riehl and husband Dennis Riehl, of Montana Two brothers, Bill Plummer and wife Arlene, of Manns Choice and Robert Plummer of Georgia, and several loving nieces, nephew and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in passing away by two brothers, Ralph Plummer and Jerry Franklin Plummer. Mrs. Wilt attended Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Breezewood. Earlier in her lifetime, she worked as a cook at the Willows Restaurant on Lincoln Highway and at the Gateway Restaurant in Breezewood. She and her husband Chet also founded, owned and operated the Breezewood Campgrounds. An excellent cook and homemaker, Sarah enjoyed sewing, camping with her husband on his weekend horse trail rides, and never turned down a yard sale on her outings with her friend Joyce. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, enjoyed local dirt track stock car racing and NASCAR racing events, and truly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friends and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held Monday, April14th, 2014 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everest with Chaplain Bruce Maxwell, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Private burial will be held by the family.
