Sharon P. (Cooper) Ickes

Sharon P. Ickes, 58, of Clearville, was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday, October 29, 2011, with her daughter by her side. She was born August 21, 1953 at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County, a daughter of the late Allen Eugene Cooper and Anita L. (Barr) Cooper of Chaneysville, who survives along with her daughter, Jammie L. Valdivia, and husband George Valdivia, of Clearville, 4 grandsons, Colby, Brendon, Ryan and Corey, 3 sisters, Donna Poe, of Sanford, Florida Sandra Shearer, of Shippensburg Karen Deremer, of Breezewood 2 brothers, David Cooper of Chaneysville, and Allen Cooper and wife Joy, of Chaneysville and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in passing away by a sister Susan Cooper. Sharon was a graduate of Everett Area High School, Class of 1972, and after graduation began working as a waitress in Breezewood at the Union 76 Truck Stop and several other restaurants in Breezewood before beginning her work as an arc welder at Cannondale in Bedford. From 1992 to 2010, Sharon worked as a farrier, shoeing and caring for horses in the Bedford and Fulton county areas. At home, she enjoyed any activity to do with horses, especially trail riding, and also enjoyed listening to country music, line dancing and teaching others the dance, and spending time and traveling with her pet Jack Russell Terrier Pee Wee and her Australian Cattle Dog Belle. She will be greatly missed for her sense of humor and her determination to care for her family and friends in a kind and honest way. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 1 , 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. James R. West officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
