Shirley Jean Nicely, 73, of Hopewell, passed away at home on Saturday, May 21, 2011 She was born June 30, 1937 in Langdondale, a daughter of the late Irvin and Flora (Hughes) Aller. She is survived by her children, Vicky Claar and husband James Claar, of Johnstown Timothy Nicely, and wife Susan, of Derry Randall Nicely, Sr. and wife Angela Nicely, of Osterburg Jeffery Nicely, of Ligonier Karla Shipe and husband Harold Shipe, of Everett Eva "Angel" Greene, and fiancé Thomas Hall, of Crystal Spring 15 grandchildren, William Myers and wife Lola, of Hopewell Denise Nicely, and fiancé Dave Baker, of Blairsville Timmy Nicely, of Derry Bryan Nicely, of Everett Kayla Bartholow, of Hopewell Brittany Milburn, of Osterburg Jonathan Thomas and fiancé Alexis Hockenberry, of Everett Azuredee Thomas and fiancé Josh Dunkle, of Everett Jeanna Thomas, of Everett Randall Nicely Jr., of Osterburg Cody Dallara, of Alum Bank Tyler Robison, of Centerville Preston Valentine, of Crystal Springs Austin Greene, of Crystal Springs Evan Greene, of Crystal Springs 11 great grandchildren Layla Myers, Billy Jo Myers, and Dominik Myers, of Hopewell Matthew Baker, Taylor Baker, Alexis Baker, and David Baker, of Blairsville Kaden Bartholow, of Bedford Michael Thomas, Rylee Thomas, and Laven Dunkle of Everett In addition to her parents she was preceded in passing away by an infant brother, an infant sister, a son Gerald Nicely, Jr., 2 sisters Dorothy Rondue, and Helen Turner, and a special friend Gerald Kifer, formerly of Artemas Shirley was an active member of the Everett VFW Post #2088, and the Bedford Moose Lodge #480. For many years, she was employed as a cook at the original Union Hotel and the Surf Room in Everett, the Willows Restaurant on Mile Level, and retired from Seton Leather Manufacturing in Saxton. At home she enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
