Stephen Eugene Maust

Stephen E. Maust, 76, of New Paris, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1947, in St. Paul, PA, a son of the late Gordon and Evelyn (Spiker) Maust. He was married to Sylvia (Rush) Maust, who preceded him in death on October 29, 1996.

 

On June 4, 1998, in Everett, he married Toshya L. (Lingenfelter) Maust.

  

Stephen is survived by his wife and children, Elvis Maust and wife Beth, Samantha Lay-Detwiler and husband William, Matthew Maust and fiancé Kelly Mellot, and Shannon Lingenfelter; a brother, Jerry Maust; several in-laws, Patricia Rush, Daniel Rush and wife Judy, Junior Rush and wife Connie and Bonnie Tew; a father and mother in-law Joel and Judy Lingenfelter; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

 

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in passing by a daughter, Sabrina Maust; grandsons, Hunter Ramsey and Robert Maust; two brothers, David Maust and Jeff Maust, and a sister, Wanda Bowers; and in-laws, Donald Rush, Robert and Linda Bloom, Veryl and Regina Rush, and Roger Tew.

 

Stephen worked as a sawmill operator for many years until his retirement. In his spare time, he enjoyed drawing, building things, art, fishing, being outdoors, and most importantly, his family. “He was the best dad in the world.”

 

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 11:00 am in the chapel at Donelson Funeral Home with pastor Clifford Swankler officiating. Visitation will be in the chapel from 10:00 am until the hour of service. Friends may share memories online at www.donelsonfuneralhome.com.

Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
