Sylvia C. Crawley Marshall, 81, of Bedford, recently of Raleigh, North Carolina, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017. She was born Thursday, October 31st, 1935 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph W. Crawley and Martha L. (Harris) Crawley. On January 15th, 1957 in Cumberland, she married Coolidge D. Marshall who passed away on December 24th, 2014. She is survived by their two sons, Kerry L. Marshall of New York, Travis K. Marshall of Knightdale, North Carolina, A grandson Peyton Marshall, A friend of her son Kerry who she treated as her own son, Eddie Xantus, Five sisters, Sandra Hobson, Margaret Sleaster, Leslie Dively, Patricia Henry and husband Eric Henry, and Angela Patillo, Two brothers, Lynn Crawley and Steven Crawley; Two sisters-in-law, Velma Green and Barbara Williams and many loving cousins, nieces, nephew and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in passing away by a son Tracy D. Marshall, an infant sister Iva Dianne Crawley, a sister Claudia Miller and two brothers, Joseph Crawley, Jr. and Shirley C. Crawley. Mrs. Marshall was a member of the Mt. Pisgah AME Zion Church in Bedford. For many years she worked as a kitchen assistant at the former Bedford County Home and continued her work at Pennknoll Village when it opened in 1978. A homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, Sylvia also enjoyed traveling with her husband to popular destinations like Las Vegas and Niagara Falls, being out and about with her sister Leslie, be it at the beauty shop or out for the night, and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother sister and friend to many. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31st, 2017 at the Mt. Pisgah AME Zion Church in Bedford with Pastor Jacqueline Dewberry officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, on Monday at the Church from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
