Thelma Snyder Obituary

Thelma Arlene Snyder, 86, of Clearville, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17th, 2014. She was born Thursday, June 16th, 1927 at her family home in Monroe Township, a daughter of the late Arthur Mearkle and Laura (Grove) Mearkle. On March 25th, 1950 in Winchester, Virginia, she married Palmer L. Snyder who passed away on December 1st, 2000. She is survived by their children, Gerald E. Snyder and wife Brenda (Calhoun) Snyder, of Everett Louise D. Holler and husband Jim Holler, of Buffalo Mills A granddaughter Roni Karns, of Everett Two great-grandchildren, Gregory Snyder and Corinne Karns A sister, Eleanor Clark, of Everett And a brother, Merle Mearkle and wife Janet, of Altoona She was preceded in passing away by a sister, Shirley Means and her husband Coy Means; a brother Melvin Mearkle; a son-in-law Jack Leader; and a brother-in-law Otis Clark. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Clear Creek Brethren in Christ Church and was employed with Lion Manufacturing in Everett as a hand seamstress until retiring. At home she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, canning vegetables that she would buy at the farmers market and spending time with her husband Palmer shopping and seeing the many different items at flea markets. Always supportive of her friends and family, Arlene was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who always had time to lend a hand, answer a question and will be greatly missed for the care and wisdom she shared so freely. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21st, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Curtis Bryant and Rev. H. Lee Ritchey officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made in memory of Arlene to the Clear Creek Brethren In Christ Church.
