Thomas E. Wood

Thomas E. Wood, 66, of Everett, passed away at home of Friday, July 27th, 2012. He was born Sunday, December 23rd, 1945 in Nanty Glo, a son of the late Earnest Wood and Christena (Laughard) Wood. On April 17th, 1967 in Cumberland Maryland, he married Linda Diane (Rose) Wood who survives along with their 4 sons, Thomas E. Wood Jr. and wife Patricia, of Ebensburg James E. Wood and wife Deborah, of Claysburg Michael E. Wood and wife Rebecca, of Nanty Glo Levi L. Wood of Everett 10 grandchildren A brother Ernest "Sonny" Wood, and 5 sisters, Margaret, Mary Jane, Andrea, Carol, and Ellen. Earlier in his lifetime, Tom was employed with Stevens Manufacturing in Ebensburg manufacturing trailers for United States Army use. He the worked as a coal miner at the Cambria Slopes Mines 31 and 33 in Mundys Corner for over 20 years until retiring. Moving to Everett in 1997 with his wife Linda to enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was fascinated with classic and antique cars. He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be remembered as a kind and knowledgeable man who was always willing to lend a hand.
