W. Clabaugh Obituary

W. Gary Clabaugh, 67, of Everett, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2014, from Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, with his family at his side. He was born Tuesday, February 26, 1946 in Everett, son of the late Ross W. Clabaugh and Nellie E. (Miller) Clabaugh. On August 13, 1964 in Winchester, Virginia, he married Carol A. (Potts) Clabaugh who survives along with their daughters, Tammy L. Gelvin and husband Steve Gelvin of Hustontown, Julie A. Jacobs and husband Brian Jacobs, of York Three grandchildren, Brandon Gelvin and wife Hope, Steve Jacobs and Amy Jacobs, And 4 great grandchildren with a new great grandson on the way. Gary was a member of the First Christian Church in Everett, and fellowship through bible study and home group were very important to him. Supporting Christian missions was another important part of his life, taking trips to the Toronto Airport Church and chauffeuring a missionary friend from Australia when she visited the states. A graduate of Everett Southern Joint High School, Class of 1964, Gary also studied and graduated from the York Business College. For over twenty one years, Gary has worked at Interchange Auto Parts, SAC Inc. in Everett at the counter and delivering parts, having helped many customers find just the right part for their repairs. As proprietor of Gary's Photo Service, he enjoyed taking pictures, especially of auto racing and family sporting events such as ball games and horse shows. He was also devoted to the care and wellness of all types of animals and was a former leader of the 4H Horse and Pony Club. At home and about town, Gary loved to watch and talk NASCAR, and was also a member of Tri-City HO Slot Car Racing Club. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and making trips to the Jersey Shore, particularly Ocean City and Stone Harbor, and will be remembered for the conversation and friendship he shared with so many. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the First Christian Church in Everett, with Rev. Robert R. Robertson and Pastor Glenn Reahm officiating. Friends may call at the First Christian Church, 57 Providence Street, Everett, PA 15537 on Tuesday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made in memory of Gary to the First Christian Church Missions Fund, 57 Providence Street, Everett, PA 15537; to Love Inc. of Bedford County, 80 State Street, Everett, PA 15537; or to the Bedford County Humane Society, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537.
