Warren W. "Barney" Young

Warren W. "Barney" Young, 69, of Breezewood, went to be with the Angels on Friday, July 15, 2011. He was born June 18, 1942 in Hopewell Township, a son of the late Walter H. Young and Mona (Mellott) Everetts. He is survived by his companion of 15 years, Lois Shotts, of Breezewood, a daughter, Mona F. Young, of Breezewood, 2 sons, Warren D. Young, and fiancé Tracie Michua, of Six Mile Run and James W. Young, and wife Brittany (Ardiel) Young, of Dubois; 10 grandchildren, Gabriella Young, Miguel Saldivar, Luis Saldivar, Mariah Michua, Matt Harr, Kendra Harr, Hunter Stallman, Jessica Stallman, Alison Stallman and Eli Colls; 3 sisters, Mary Page, of Everett, Douris House, of Breezewood, and Winnie, of California; 2 brothers, Jim Young, of Ohio and Donnie Young, of Ohio. He was preceded by 2 sisters, Maryella and Orfa, and a brother Mick. After graduating from high school and attending several years of technical school, Warren served in the United States Navy, later working as an industrial engineer and plant supervisor for Popeil Brothers, Inc. in Chicago. He then owned and operated the Old Time Woodworking shop In Ziegler, Illinois, and for over 15 years, was employed as a truck driver for Celebrity Freight in Paducah Kentucky. At home, "Pops" as he was know to his family, enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing with his grandchildren, and was loved by so many people, that he will be greatly missed for the many lives he touched so caringly. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Sherman's Valley Church Cemetery with Pastor Toby Mellott officiating. Friends may call at the cemetery on Saturday from 1:00 pm until hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Memorial contribution may be made in memory of Warren to the funeral home.
