Werner Alex Ickes

Werner A. Ickes, 77, of Everett, PA, went home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2024.

 

He was born in Munich, Germany, on September 12, 1946, a son of the late Raymond Ickes and Rosina (Burgmuller) Ickes.

 

On November 12, 1966, he married Yvonne Manning, in Lancaster, PA.

 

Werner is survived by his wife, Yvonne; three sons, Richard Ross, Christopher Ickes and wife Laurie, and Michael Ickes and wife Veronica; two daughters, Anna Grippi and husband Bruno and Emily Krus and husband Michael; two sisters, Tami Walsh and husband Doug and Rosemarie Stiffler; four grandchildren, Vito Grippi, Megdalina Hoffner, Autumn Ickes, and Justin Brian; and four great-grandchildren, Helena Hoffner, Marguerite Hoffner, Bruno Grippi, and Dahlia.

 

After high school, Werner worked in the construction industry for many years until his retirement.

 

Werner loved his family unconditionally, putting their needs and happiness before his own. He provided unwavering support and encouragement to his family by being a pillar of strength.

 

Providing relaxation and a calming effect, Werner found extreme pleasure being outdoors. He truly appreciated the beauty of the natural environment. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, finding that both sports provided him with a sense of adventure and personal fulfillment. Werner had a love for all animals, especially Beagles.  

 

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

 

Burial will be at Bedford County Memorial Park.
